Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire (OPGW) adds fiber into it and at the same time,maintains all the original performance and functions of the existing overhead ground wire,which opens up the high-performance optical transmission channel,giving it both lightening-resistant and communications functions,it is a kind of wire that combines the functions of overhead ground wire and communications capabilities.
The OPGW consist of stainless steel tube optical unit, aluminum cladding steel wire, aluminum alloy wire. It has central stainless steel tube structure and layer stranding structure. We can design the structure according to different environment condition and customers requirements.

Quality and Testing
There are different test series to assure the quality of GL FIBER' OPGW Cable:
∗ Routine test (inprocess testing according to internal quality plan)
∗ Factory acceptance test (FAT, witnessed by customer)
∗ Type test (only in case of a basic new design, repetition in exceptional cases)

OPGW tests shall be in accordance with applicable standards or agreements between purchaser and manufacturer. As a general rule the tests will be performed according IEC 60794-4-10.However, if necessary tests can be done according to IEEE Std1138.

With more than 60 OPGW fiber cable designs successfully type-tested, GL FIBER has extensive experience in OPGW qualification. Additionally, our in-house laboratories certify that all cables are manufactured in compliance with the design specifications. GL FIBER' OPGW manufacturing plants are ISO 9001 and 14001 certified and the quality assurance systems are managed accordingly.
